It’s really quiet here tonight. It’s one of the last big shopping days in Belgium (où les magasins sont fermée habituellement les dimanches) and almost everyone I know has been out buying gifts for their families and friends or, in the case of my housemate, been having gifts bought for her. She said her own gift to her boyfriend was just being there, that was enough apparently!
I’m sitting in my room, doing some much needed reading. I have my computer on, so I can look up words quickly. If their definition doesn’t suffice, I’ll hit my real dictionary. I have my mechanical pencil out, underlining interesting content and checking out words I don’t know when, through the wall, I hear my Russian housemate make a alarmed sounding exclamation, ‘Eugh!’. You know the sound you make when you’re eating a piece of fruit in a hurry, and only half-way through that first big bite do you realise the fruit has gone badly off? That’s the sound she made.
Complete silence.
‘Eugh!’
Complete silence.
Perhaps I’m terrible, but I almost died laughing. The killer was that I couldn’t make any noise during my hysterics or else she’d hear me. But really. Funniest thing ever.

It sounds like that one time I had my window open and I heard this girl orgasming in one of the houses close to mine. Except I could laugh… and did! ;o)
