I’ve been spending the day organising my belongings, and most importantly, wardobe in this house. Because I’m not here very much anymore I find that every time I return, the things I’ve left behind have become less and less relevant. Whilst I was ironing *embarrassed shrug* for several hours today, I put my iTunes library on Shuffle and set off. Because I was bored out of my skull by the fact that I was ironing for so long, I began to actually listen to the lyrics of the songs playing. And the Beach Boys came on, telling of how it would be so much ‘nicer’ if the couple could stay together, as a couple, all the time. I used to think of the song as just a little ditty with a not-particularly-catchy tune, but perhaps I was wrong; it’s got a lamenting side to it which is skillfully disguised by upbeat, smiley singing. It’s a fresh look.
