Though I said there was nothing interesting in the news today, I’m wrong. Well, perhaps there’s nothing interesting in the news itself, but the way it’s presented is news to me! I’ve not seen the new Google News customization that’s been put in place, and I must say I’m loving. Now one can view the top stories from several different market news segments on one page, can rearrange the order and number of stories displayed as well as completely removing certain sections; Sports has disappeared from my news completely, it’s very refreshing.
Now I can have my business news from the US and the UK on the same page, can have 2 ‘Entertainment’ stories from the UK and 5 from the US, and can read about what’s going on in Germany without having to really care enough to go to a German paper; I’m in love. Finally something useful for the ID google assigns to all web browsers on their first contact with the homepage. Though whether I’ll keep my current setup until the date Google’s cookies run out, 2036, I’m not so sure.

Here’s my configuration of Google News, which one can look at by just clicking on the link and you’ll automatically get the same page as would be generated for my browser; classic!
