Furthermore, I don't know what 'demented' lifestyle you're referring to. It sounds to me like she's had a pretty up and down life, nothing I'd call demented. I think Roseanne is interesting if only because she brings something different to the debate, something new to our collective culture and a persepective (larger, straight, loud, outspoken, modest, reflexive and yet at times crass) that can challenge accepted positions and stereotypes. Taken out of context her words may seem hurtful but I don't feel they're malicious. And I don't think God would want to be brought into this s/he has enough problems as it is without having to give special preference to one nation over another.
