Today I’m off travelling again. Just back from Germany and now leaving for France. The packing for this trip has been a bit difficult because I’m not returning home prior to travelling to Brussels to study for the year. The next time my family will see me in England is Christmas. Anyway, this is a photo that seems to sum up my last trip; waiting, wearing greens, shooting our rifles and the (underground) escape from the heat of the German summer. The armoury was somewhere we visited at least twice a day to sign out and then sign back in our weapons.

The next symbolic image won’t, I imagine, involve SA80‘s; I’m on an onganic herb farm, and people who farm don’t tend to carry rifles as a matter of course. Please don’t be disappointed if there are no substantive updates until late August. Enjoy your summer, I plan to enjoy mine!

Life’s nuts. My mum’s just been having a go at me all night because I’m leaving too soon! Am going to france on Friday and only just got back from Germany on Monday. Am not thinking I’ll be back in where they live until Christmas! Not in her good books!

Oh well. Other than that I’m really really stressed trying to sort everything out and kind of loathing the fact that for the next eleven months I’ll have to cope in French! Eeek! What HAVE I got myself in for? I’m rubbish at French!
