See I’m not sure that it is Campo san Barnaba, I’m thinking perhaps it was one bridge to the North. Perhaps that’s just me getting it wrong but… well. I mean, there are lots of positives pointing to Barnaba but at the same time the shape of the square just seems wrong. The church is all fine but the shape is just wrong!
Okay, i realise that i may be being really thick here- but what is Campo san Barnaba? I thought the picture was just of a sweet lookign bird, altho it is awfully cold looking for this time of year, in London the past few days have felt like a mini-heatwave! That said, it is raining now, and ive just realised you guys could be talking about italy… What are you guys talking about?!
of course it is. stupid me. I can never identify birds… i suppose it’s just that I don’t really care enough what they’re called: they’re beautiful and cute, but I just can’t bring myself to remember what the are!
plus they’re small and normally hard to see. I have some good excuses too!
Hey R, sorry I didn’t see your comment until just a moment ago so I missed it and didn’t get it showing properly.
You’re right, this is a bird that I took a photo of in Venice and the discussion is on what little square the photo was taken in. We sat on the stoop of a church with a couple of Asian tourists and Italian people, all eating single slices of pizza from a hole-in-the-wall eatery just around the corner. I suppose as a result of the pizza crumbs, the opportunity for shade or sun in the area and the sweet little trees there, lots of little birds (sparrow apparently!) were hopping around there, in competition with the fat pigeons that’re ever present in Venice.
BTW, I envy the heatwave talk, as it’s still cold in Leeds. Always cold!
campo san barnaba

I still think San Barnaba – but we can look at the map and decide when we next meet.
As for your excuses re the sparrow – ummm!!
He looks pensive. That’s the way I look when I’m in the snow wearing my black coat.
