Amongst the 46,000 polling stations that are available for voters in the UK election today, representing almost 71 stations per constituency, there are some odd choices. Of the 465 seats, perhaps the most visually striking position is that of York Art Gallery. Having just opened from a £360,000 refurbishment on March 19th, The gallery is showing its current exhbition, Reflections which pairs works of art by artists such as Monet, Rembrandt, Hepworth and Titian which are owned by the gallery, with pieces loaned from local and national galleries.
“Each pair share a common theme, style or subject matter and have been chosen to reflect the breadth of the gallery’s collection, which spans 600 years of British and European art.”
